Rose Pirollo, 89 passed away on June 16,2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Rose was born in Minturno, Italy on September 3, 1924, to Concetta (Tuccillo) and Biago Conte and came to the United States in 1938 as a young teenager, settling in Pittsburgh, PA. She and her family moved to Akron in 1944. Rose married her husband, Thomas Pirollo in 1946 and raised four wonderful children. She was a parishioner of St. Hilary Church, a member of St. Peter's Grandmothers' Club and several other organizations; volunteering at The Friends of the Elms, the International Institute, and the Fairlawn Garden Club. Rose loved to garden, craft and thread crochet, making beautiful crocheted tablecloths and other keepsakes. However, she derived her most joy from her family, always thrilled to visit and entertain them.
Preceded in death by her parents, Biagio and Concetta Conte and brother Anthony Conte; she is survived by her husband of 68 years, Thomas; children, Patrick (Shonda) Pirollo, Martin (Judi) Pirollo, Marie (Frank) Bevilacqua, Jane (Tom) Webb; grandchildren, Eric (Tia) Pirollo, Brian (Jill) Pirollo, Frank II (Kirsten) Bevilacqua, Nichole (Matt) Bartlett, Jeffrey Bevilacqua, Dr. Bradley (Dr. Erika Fraundorf) Webb and Laura (Carl) Arnold. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Isabella and Sophia Bevilacqua, Jack, Dominic, and Stella Pirollo, Abigail, Chloe and Madeline Arnold, Seren and Hazel Bartlett, Isaac Webb, and Luca Pirollo. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Nancy Conte; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Perry and Lillia Pirollo, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Copley Health Center and the Hospice Care Center on Ridgewood Road for the care and dedication shown to Rose the last five months.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. FRIDAY at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
