Roswell Branson Dorsett, Jr., 89, died June 20, 2013.
Born July 8, 1923 in Akron, he was a life resident. A U.S. Army Veteran of World War II with service in New Guinea, he was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Loyalty Lodge F&AM, past president of the West Akron Kiwanis and member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Mr. Dorsett had been employed at Allstate Trucking, March Rubber and had retired from Akron Dime Bank in 1995.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Kay Ellen Dorsett; he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sara; children, Dr. Roswell Branson Dorsett III of Fairlawn, Kirk (Maggi) Dorsett of Akron, Ken (Patti) Dorsett of Richfield and Dr. Jan (Peter) Bayer of Chantilly, VA; grandchildren, Katelyn Dorsett, Maureen Dorsett, Amy Cashdollar, Alex Dorsett, Jean Bayer and Lizzie Bayer; sister, Josephine Kusel of John's Island, FL.
Services will be held 3 p.m. TUESDAY in the Chapel of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, corner of West Market and Kenilworth Dr., with Rev. Amjad J. Samuel officiating. Private interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Foundation, 1361 W. Market St., Akron, Ohio 44313.
