Roy H. Finefrock, 95, died July 30, 2011.
Born on a farm in Stark County, he moved to Waynesburg at age seven. While at Mount Union College he met the love of his life, Ferol. They were married for 67 years and had two children. Roy retired with 42 years service from Firestone Tire and Rubber, a job which he loved, and was a member of the Lions Club. He had a strong belief in the power of education, loved ice cream, peanuts, playing golf and cards, exploring the world he saw all the continents except Antarctica and above all was his love of his wife, Ferol.
Preceded in death by wife, Ferol; and son, Bob; he is survived by daughter, Susan Bedall; grandson, Bret Bedall; and loving dog, Norton.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Akron City Hospital, especially Kathy and her Hospice crew and Dr. Walter S. Chisholm for his years of friendship.
Private services will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Massillon with Dr. Walter S. Chisholm officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, do something nice for someone that needs it.
