Roy Mook

June 12, 1953 — March 2, 2017

Roy Mook, 63, of Stow, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving family as he went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Roy had a sweet, gentle, and kind spirit. He had a genuine servant's heart and was always happy and willing to help others. He was a simple man that loved and adored his family and would drop anything to help them. He had a wonderful sense of humor that brightened others' days and was gifted with attention to detail and great organizational skills. He loved and had incredible faith in Jesus Christ and lived his life following Him.

Roy was born in Meadville, PA. He worked for Roadway Express for thirty-one years and after retiring he used his administrative skills to start his own homecare company. He also became a bus-driver for Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools and thoroughly enjoyed the kids on his bus route. On top of his work, Roy was very active in his kid's extracurricular activities and other community organizations. He was a member at Riverwood Community Chapel for twenty-five years and throughout that time served in many ministries. He was an avid Cavs fan, loved to be outside, and enjoyed bonfires. He also was a dedicated runner and ran many races throughout his life.

Roy touched the lives of many, and he will be missed greatly by his family and friends. We are comforted in the fact that He is at peace in the presence of His Savior.

He is preceded in death by parents, Beatrice and Russell Mook and sister-in-law, Nancy (Hatch) Castanaro. He is survived by spouse of thirty-three years, Susan Mook of Stow; son, Corey (Samantha) Mook of Stow; daughters, Christine (Joshua) Hostetler of Columbus and Kelly (Jonathan) Ashley of Stow; sister, Donna Roach of FL; brothers, Lyle (Sandee) Mook of PA, Merle Mook of PA and Thomas (Janice) Hatch of Akron; mother-in-law, Jane Hatch of Akron; granddaughters, Annika and Adeline Mook; and many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
