Royal Manville Douglass, Jr.
Royal Manville Douglass, Jr., 83, son of Royal and Ruby Artman Douglass, died June 28, 2009 at Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community, Lebanon, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Ingrid Douglass of the home; three daughters, Carolyn Andrew Shuirr of Springfield, Ohio, Susan Dan Rouster of Cincinnati, Ohio and Martha Daryl Schulz of Elk City, Kan.; seven grandchildren and two great- grandchildren; brothers, Paul of Wheeling, W. Va., and Hugh of Horseheads, N.Y.. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur and James.
A graduate of Cornell University, he was employed as a mechanical engineer for Babcock and Wilcox for forty years. In later years, he was past commander of the Knoxville, Tenn. Power Squadron.
Services will be held 3 p.m. FRIDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333, with Rev. Paul Arthur Douglass officiating. Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Friday.
