Russell W. McCracken, 89, died July 13, 2008.
Born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. A member of Fairlawn Lutheran Church and N.A.R.F.E., he was past commander of Amvets Post 176.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; sons, William and David; daughter, Joan McCracken; grandchildren, Amy Eric Weldele, Rachael Scott Jacobson and Adam Jenny McCracken; great-granddaughter, Jordon; brothers, Willard and Irvin; sisters, Elva Russell and Lena Barrett.
Services will be held 10 a.m. THURSDAY at Fairlawn Lutheran Church with Pastor Larry Leuthaeuser officiating. Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., WEDNESDAY 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour before services Thursday at Church. Donations may be made to Richfield E.M.S., 4410 W. Streetsboro Rd., Richfield 44286 or The Braille Ministry at Fairlawn Lutheran Church, 3415 W. Market St., Akron 44333. Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel
