Russell B. Pembrook
Russell B. Pembrook, 92, left this world November 1st after a brief illness and a long, happy life.
He was born September 29, 1916, son of the late Marie Holtz Pembrook and Burt Pembrook. A lifelong resident of Akron, Russell graduated from North High School in 1933. He had worked for a time at both O'Neils and Polsky's Department Stores in downtown Akron, and at B.F. Goodrich. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in 1982 after 40 years service as a draftsman. Russell and his wife Regina were among the founding members of West Hill Baptist Church in Fairlawn.
Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Regina Morrison in 1993 and brother, Robert N. Pembrook; he is survived by his son, Gary K. of Akron; his faithful companion "Corky", and numerous friends, nephews and nieces.
A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. WEDNESDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Meghan Froehlich of the Church of Our Saviour Episcopal conducting the service. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
