Ruth Jane Grimwood

Ruth Jane (Myers) Grimwood, 90, died February 19, 2016.

She was born to the latea��F.F. Myers, Sr. and Nellie McConnaughy Myers on November 12, 1925. Janie was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio. She was a member of the Church of Our Saviour, Daughters of Divine Charity, Portage Country Club, and Junior League of Akron. She was also a member of the Women's Board of Summa Health System, Circle of Women's Health Philanthropists, and Cardio Vascular Institute Leadership Council.

Janie was a kind and generous person to all whose paths she crossed. She will be missed by all her family and her friends near and far. A very special thank you to Carol Spaulding, Helen Conway and Renee Hostetler for their devotion and caregiving to Janie.

Preceded in death by her husband, James E. Grimwood; brothers, F.F. Myers, Jr. (Mary Louise), and James (Elizabeth); nephew, Frederick Myers, III; niece, Ann M. Miller; and lifelong friend, Patricia Thornton; she is survived by her step daughter, Patricia Frew (William); step grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, Jane M. Rozuk (Thomas), Susan Smith, Bonnie Myers; nephews, William Myers (Susan), James, John, and George Myers; and many great and great great nieces and nephews.

Services will bea��held 11 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Mark J. Pruitt officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summa Health System, P.O. Box 2090, Akron, OH 44398-6153 or a charity of your choice. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
