Ruth F. Johnson , 99, of Akron passed away on September 2, 2024. Ruth was born in Johnstown, PA on August 9, 1925 to the late Ralph and Loretta Johnson.

After WWII she was a court reporter with the US Air Force, civilian employee, traveling extensively overseas, especially England and Germany. Eventually Ruth retired from Nationwide Insurance Co., after a long career. She attended Christ Woodland United Methodist Church faithfully, where she taught Sunday School and worked with the Outreach Activities.

Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Galen, Donald, Clark, and Clyde and sister Irene. She is survived by her brother Jay Johnson; several nieces and nephews and dear friends Linda Morrison, Diane Salsbury and Karen Kotner.

Funeral service will be at 11 AM on Saturday September 7, 2024 at the Billow Funeral Home 85 N. Miller Rd. Fairlawn, Ohio 44333 with Rev. Deborah Nees officiating. Family and friends may visit from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Burial will take place at Somerset County Memorial Park, in Somerset, PA on Monday September 9, 2024 at 1 PM.

In lieu of flowers make memorials to Christ Woodland UM Church 444 N. Hawkins Ave. Akron, Ohio 44313.
