Ruth Margaret Krenrick
Ruth Margaret nee Holb Krenrick, 84, departed from this life into God's presence on September 4, 2008.
Born on September 23, 1923 in Akron, she was raised and graduated from Atwater High School in 1941. She then moved to Akron. As a young woman, she lived at the YWCA and graduated from Actual Business College. She became a secretary at St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she worked for over 35 years. Through her life, Ruth was a faithful member of Atwater Methodist Church, then Grace United Church of Christ and at present, The Chapel of Akron. For the past two years she has lived at The Merriman. As a young mother, she served as PTA President of King Elementary and worked with the Music Association at Firestone High School. She was a Master calligrapher and a member of Scripts and Scribes. For 25 years she donated her calligraphy talents to benefit the Children's Hospital Holiday Tree Festival.
She was always there for her family and friends. She loved her husband, treasured her four daughters and cherished their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, Catherine Prasher and Henry Holb and her sister, Catherine Robinson. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald Krenrick. She leaves a legacy of her four daughters, Donna Jim Marckel of Findlay, Rebecca Bill Considine of Akron, Connie Jim Livingston of Solon, Nancy Bill Mitchell of Medina; and her seven grandchildren, Jason Amy Marckel of Willoughby, Julie Brock Stull of Columbus, Michael Considine of Akron, Cathryn Considine of Columbus, Matthew Considine of Akron, Brandon Katzenmeyer of Cuyahoga Falls, and Cory Katzenmeyer of Cuyahoga Falls. She also leaves her brother, Albert Betty Holb of Norwalk; sister, Mary Jane George Irwin of Phoenix, Arizona; and brother-in-Iaw, Ralph Robinson of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
The family of Ruth is grateful to God for her life. She will forever be loved, missed and remembered.
A celebration of life service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, September 8th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Lynn Warner officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 7th from 2 to 5 p.m. and one hour before services on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Children's Hospital, 1 Perkins Square, Akron, Ohio 44308 or to your favorite charity.
