Ruth Elizabeth ``Ruthie' Stano passed into the arms of her lord and savior on March 15, 2011 after a long struggle with kidney disease.
She was born January 20, 1950 in Wadsworth, Ohio to parents, John, who preceded her in death, and Patricia Stano. She graduated from the University of Akron with a B.F.A. She leaves to mourn her death her mother, Patricia Stano; sisters, Dianne John Rupert of Vermilion, Ohio, Cathy Matheney of Charleston, W.Va. and Joan Dan Smith of Stow, Ohio; brother, Andrew Joanne Stano; dearest friends, Nancy and Michael Koly and Nancy and Rick Ivan; nine nieces and nephews; ten great-nieces and nephews; and many friends. She belonged to St. Luke's' Anglican Church.
She had a brilliant mind and artistic talent. She loved animals, children, reading, football, traveling, edgy movies, rock and roll and gardening.
Per Ruth's request, her body has been cremated with scattering of her ashes at a later date. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 1, 2011 at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 565 S. Cleveland Massillon Road, Akron, Ohio at 1 p.m. with the memorial service at 2 p.m. Out of respect for Ruth's deep love of animals, in lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to your local humane society or animal shelter.
Ruth had faith in God that wasn't weakened by her illness. Her passing leaves a tremendous hole in our hearts, but Ruth has moved up. Now she is walking with Jesus.
