Samuel John Paul

Samuel John Paul passed away December 14, 2020 due to the Coronavirus. He was born April 24, 1928. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty of 52 years, mother Annie and father John. Being an only child, friends were very special…..those of Goodyear/PNC Banks, Woodland Methodist, Concordia at Sumner and Greenfield Estates. Sam graduated on the Dean’s List from Akron U’s Buchtel College. He became the only Auditor of Goodyear Bank and President of the Akron Chapter American Institute of Banking. He received the Goodyear local Spirit Award in 1977. Sam volunteered many hours to the Akron Kiwanis Chapter, Open M and various Woodland Church activities. After retiring in 1996 from National City Bank, now PNC, he served as Church Finance Chairman. In earlier years Sam was an excellent trap shooting marksman and a member of Goodyear Zepplin Rifle Hunting and Fishing Club. There will be no visitation and burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Woodland United Methodist Church, 444 N. Hawkins Ave., Akron, Ohio 44313, Hospice or your favorite charity.
