Sarah Jane (Craig) Tillery

Sarah Jane (Craig) Tillery age 83, Stow,OH passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. She was born January 28, 1936 in Madison County, AL, daughter of the late Otha M. and Rosa (Ledbetter) Butler. She graduated from Hazel Green High School.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Craig; son, Keith Craig; second husband, William "Speedy" Tillery; brothers, Estemann Butler and Otha Butler Jr; and sister, Gladise Chandler.

She is survived by her son, Kent (Meredith) Craig of Cleveland, OH; granddaughters, Allyson and Megan Craig; sister Billie Rose Sanders of Ardmore; brother, Teddy Lloyd (Clara) Butler of Ardmore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sarah spent the majority of her life in Ardmore, AL where she enjoyed her vegetable garden and driving her kids all over creation for sporting events. Outside of the home she was a substitute teacher, as well as a member of the kitchen staff at Huntsville Hospital. But her treasured life's work was that as a homemaker and caring mother to her children. She contributed to the community by volunteering at Toney School and Shady Grove Methodist Church where she was a longtime member. Sarah was beloved by both the residents and staff of The Landing of Stow where she lived her last few years.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, 27186 E. Main Street, Ardmore, AL 35739. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's personal choice.
