Sarah Kulinski

August 7, 1942 — March 7, 2015

Sarah Taylor Kulinski went home to the Lord on March 7, 2015, after a long illness.
Sarah was born in Pennsylvania on August 7, 1942, and was married to Bob Kulinski in 1983. Sarah is also survived by her son, Edward Hudgens of Chapel Hill, NC; a nephew, John Eric Taylor; and close family, Paul and Linda Franjesh of Newport, MI and their children.
Sarah was employed as full charge bookkeeper for the Cape Fear United Way in Wilmington, NC, where she met her future husband, Bob. They subsequently lived in in Roanoke, VA and New Castle, VA until 2000, when Bob became president of United Way in Akron, and they lived in West Akron ever since.
Sarah loved music, reading, was a whiz at crossword puzzles, and loved animals, especially her Irish Setters which she raised and helped to compete to earn champion designations. Sarah loved to travel and is one of only a few Americans who saw Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats on three separate trips to London.
Sarah was one of the most compassionate persons in our community and in other places where she lived. She always went to great lengths to provide assistance, financial aid, a sympathetic ear, and good advice to many people who were marginalized due to their age, race, addiction, or sexual orientation. She was a world class patient during her lengthy hospitalizations, and we are grateful to the staff at Summa Akron City Hospital, the incredible caring staff at Bath Manor, and the support provided by Summa Home Hospice staff.
Visitation and Memorial service will be held 3:30 PM - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, OH, with the service scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please provide a donation in Sarah's memory to any charity caring for animals. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
