Scott Michael Gossett

Scott Michael Gossett, 42, passed away October 4, 2023, after a short but valiant battle with a rare brain disorder. Born and raised in Akron, he lived most of his life in the area. Scott worked at a variety of jobs including trucking, commercial lighting, maintenance and most recently as a glass installer at Schmidt Glass.

Some of his favorite things included his family and friends (2-legged and 4-legged), all sports, especially baseball and golf, holiday gatherings and birthday celebrations, camping and cookouts, Friday night football and Wednesday night dinners, Sparrow Lake and a good jack and coke, and his beloved fiancée, Nancy.

He is survived by his parents John (Becky) Gossett and Marci (Jeff) Auld, sisters Wendi (Rod) Schumacher and Megan (Cory) Hatfield, daughter Elaina Kilker, nephews David and Shawn Schumacher, and fiancée Nancy Keenan and her children Audrey, Maggie, and Jack.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, October 13th at 11:30 at Fairlawn-West UCC, 2095 W. Market St., Akron, with calling hours before the service from 10:00 – 11:30. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the CJD Foundation of Akron, or the charity of your choice.
