Shirley J. Croft, 82, died Sept. 14, 2009.
Born in Massillon, she lived most of her life in Akron. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Akron Woman's City Club, George Washington Chapter of American Colonists, Salvation Army Home League, Cuyahoga Portage Chapter of D.A.R., D.A.C., Red Hatters, and was a volunteer at the Medina County Home.
Preceded in death by husband, Ronald B. and sister, Sara Hoover, she is survived by son, Terry Karen Croft; daughters, Susan Gene Stoker and Julie Randy Ruch; grandchildren, Mindy and Deb Stoker, Lindsey and Phillip Croft, Matt and Brett Monnot and Christian Ruch; many nieces and nephews; Bob Monnot; and faithful dogs, Madison and Clarabelle.
The family would like to thank special friend, Sue Arbuckle for her loving care and friendship.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday at The Salvation Army Citadel with Capt. James Betts officiating. Private interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, 190 S. Maple St., Akron 44302 or your favorite charity.
