Spencer C. Freeman Jr., 88, Bath Township Native, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 20, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Spencer, who went by “Tad” was born May 12, 1933, in Akron. He was the last class at Bath High School in 1951. He spent four years in the United States Air Force and then retired from Lawson Milk Co. Tad was adored by many for his dry and enjoyable sense of humor. He could repair almost anything that needed fixed. Tad was very talented and enjoyed fishing and water skiing in Apple Valley, gardening, and walking five miles around Bath Township every day. He was very fit and active all his life. Tad was a Civil War buff. He dedicated a lot of his time and energy to volunteering at the Bath Twp. Museum.
Spencer is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Helen (nee Tetzel) Freeman; cherished children Sheryl (Paul) Kratzer and Todd (Shelly) Freeman; beloved grandchildren Ryan (April), Adam, Lacey (James), Susan (Pete), and Robert (Sami); seven great grandchildren; one niece and two nephews.
A private family inurnment has taken place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Spencer’s name are suggested to a charity of one’s choice, Bath Township Museum, Summa Health Hospice Care, or Bath Fire and Rescue Squad.
