Spiros G. Vasilatos, 86, died peacefully on May 3, 2012 following a period of declining health.
Born in Kefalonia, Greece, he lived in Akron since 1956. He retired from the Atlantic Foundry after 33 years and was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. He enjoyed his family and working in his garden and yard. He was preceded in death by his three brothers.
Spiros is survived by his wife, Niki, who he married on June 2, 1957; sons, Spiros, Jr. (Denise), Bill (Terri); daughter, Florence Zuder; grandchildren, Nicholas and Adam; Ali, Sami, and Mike; Katarina and Alexandra; sister-in-law, Angeliki Vasilatos; cousin, Jerry Papas; nephews, Mike (Wendi) Vasilatos and Cos (Tami) Vasilatos.
Service to be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St., Akron 44304 with Rev. Fr. Jerry H. Hall officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron with a 7 p.m. Trisagion service. Memorials may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
