On March 1, 2010, Stanley Cimarik, 94, went home to be with his Lord and Savior.
Stan was born in Akron, Ohio on July 31, 1915 to Charles and Marie Cimarik, and lived most of his life in Akron. He was employed at the Portage Machine Company, a family owned business started by his father in 1916. He became vice-president and later president of PDQ Tool Company, a subsidiary of Portage Machine.
His hobbies were golf, fishing and flying. Stan held a private pilot's license with a twin engine rating, was a member of Christian Businessmen's Association, AOPA and an honorary member of Fairlawn Country Club having joined in 1956. He was also an active member of Lakeside Christian Church where he was treasurer for over forty years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Vera Mae Leimgruber and Mary Lou Stewart. He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-nine years, Rosaline; daughters, Cam Kirn, Deborah Andrew Thomas, Wendy Andy Costa, Lauren Dan Zarkovacki, Karen Gary Wimer, Karla Charles Hrubik; brother, Clyde Margaret; sister, Harriett Wooley; also surviving are twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Werner Leimgruber.
Rosaline and the family wish to thank all the employees at Hospice for their loving care to Stan, and the church for their love and prayers.
Calling hours will be at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 4th. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 5th at Lakeside Christian Church with Roger Mueller officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeside Christian Church, 3535 Knollwood Lane, Akron. OH 44333, or to the Hospice Care Center, 3558 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
