Stanley C. Rose, 91, died February 24, 2017.
Born in Sarnia, Ontario, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He attended Kent State University as well as received management training at Wharton, Carnegie Mellon and M.I.T. He retired as vice president of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 42 years of service. A dedicated member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for more than 50 years, Stan also served his community through civic and charitable organizations. He was an avid follower and supporter of Kent State University athletics.
He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Lois Ann; his children, Ronald C. (Monika), Barbara (Robert) Hill and Douglas Kyle (Cynthia); grandchildren, Meghan, Melissa (Casey), Kelley (Daniel), Andrew, Emma, Charles and Clara; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Madelyn, Olivia, Nathan and Lauren.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. FRIDAY in the Chapel at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with Rev. Mark Pruitt officiating. Inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. 5-8 p.m. THURSDAY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313.
