Stella Georgette Watt

Stella Georgette Watt (née Chretien), age 79, died September 22, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Beloved wife, Stella was married to Bob Watt for 57 years. Together, they built a life and a business, moving from Canada to Michigan to Ohio, settling in Fairlawn and wintering in Bonita Springs, Florida. Loving mother to Michelle Watt Tortorella and John, Sherri Watt Andersen and Tom, and Bob Watt Jr., Stella was the heart of the family, guiding and inspiring her children to be their best and do their best. Dear grandmother to Alexa Andersen, Sarah Tortorella, Thomas Andersen, and Alex Tortorella, Stella's strength and grace persist in their hearts. Loving daughter to Henry and Yvette Chretien, who preceded her in death, and caring sister to surviving Ronald, Carmen, Suzette and deceased Roger, Gerry, Marcel, her love flows to you.
Stella became an American citizen in 1972 and started her 40-year career as a realtor. She served on the TWIG committee over 25 years, bringing smiles to sick children at Akron Children's Hospital. Stella loved golfing, cooking, playing bridge, gardening, and reading. She met wonderful friends along the way, and in her last weeks, graciously wished to thank them for their cards, calls, meals, prayers. Her friends touched her heart, brought a tear of joy, and gave her strength.
The family would also like to thank her doctors and caregivers at the Cleveland Clinic, Akron General Hospital, and the Hospice Care Center for caring for Stella through trials, therapies, surgeries, and her walk to New Life. All she wanted was more time, and you helped her achieve that.
Stella will be remembered for her kind heart, sweet spirit, sense of style, faith, strength, and smile. There was love in every room Stella was in. There is love in every heart where she lives. Everything is temporary, but love.
Family and friends may call at the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., on Sunday, October 2nd from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St., on Monday, October 3rd at 10:30 a.m. with interment at Rose Hill Burial Park in Fairlawn.
