Stuart "Stu" Weinstein, 67, passed away at home March 8, 2013, surrounded by his family after a long battle with appendix cancer.
Born in Pittsburgh, he lived most of his life in Copley. Stu was a CFO for Brunswick Companies and served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany during Vietnam from 1970-1972. He was an avid golfer, loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed basking in the sun at the beach. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren whom he adored.
Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Phyllis; grandparents, Sam and Dora Taksa; survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kathy; daughters, Nora (Dominick) Roselle of Maryland, Sara (Marc) Oravecz of Richfield; grandchildren, Lukas, Lauren, Evan, Maxwell; brother, Robert (Leslie) Weinstein; sister, Myrna (Bob) Forton; sister-in-law, Maureen Warner.
Services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 12th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron. Burial at Copley Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army and Copley Veterans Post. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. TODAY and 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Lodge , 11432 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, OH 44106.
