SUE (LEHNER) RASOR
Sue (Lehner) Rasor, 86, of Tallmadge, passed away Saturday, November 16th at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center. She loved her Lord and with her strong faith in Christ, she believed that "those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31)
Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Harry E. Rasor. She often said that God had blessed her with a wonderful family. She leaves behind four children: Carol (and George) Muzny, Bob (and Tina) Rasor, Gregg (and Chris) Rasor, and Abby (and John) Kujawski; eight grandchildren: Ashley (and Daniel) Vance, Michael Rasor, Aaron (and Jenna) Muzny, Nathan Rasor, Daniel Rasor, Abigail Rasor, Jack Kujawski, and Kate Kujawski; three great-grandchildren: Jourdan, Caroline, and Chyles Vance; her brother, Thomas Lehner III of Norton, and many nieces and nephews. God also blessed her with a dear friend for over 80 years, Vi Brown of Copley.
Sue was born in Gyorkony, Hungary in 1927 and immigrated to the United States as a young child. After graduating from Buchtel High School and The University of Akron, she taught elementary school in Lorain, Akron, and Cuyahoga Falls for 32 years. Sue was a life-long member of First Grace United Church of Christ in Akron, being active as a teacher in Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, director of the Children's Choir, and was a faithful member of the Chancel Choir, often singing duets with her friend Vi. Sue also lived her faith by volunteering her time with inner-city hunger programs and West Side Good Neighbors. She was a past member of Civitan Club of Cuyahoga Falls, the Akron Woman's City Club and a volunteer at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, and should friends desire, the family requests donations be made to First Grace UCC Food Ministries or Hospice of VNS, c/o Akron General Foundation, 400 Wabash Ave., Akron 44307, where not only Sue, but also her family and friends, received such kindness and loving care during her final days. Calling hours will be at Billow FALLS Chapel (located at 1907 23rd Street, Cuyahoga Falls) on Friday, November 22nd from 3 to 7 pm. The funeral service will be held at First Grace UCC (350 South Portage Path, Akron) on Saturday, November 23rd at 1:00 pm, with the Rev. Robert J Dreese officiating. There will be an additional visitation at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Private burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. (Billow FALLS Chapel)
