SUE A. TOLLEY, 94, passed away February 10, 2025. Sue was born on December 28, 1930, in Moundsville, West Virginia. Her mother was Jean C. Calhoun. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, Howard A. Tolley. Surviving Sue are her son, Jim (Bernadette), daughter, Jill Dugovics; granddaughters, Allison (Nick) Diemert, Emily (Christopher) Smith, and Devon (Adam) Owens; and great grandchildren, Cole and Luke. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jody (Kevin), as well as her siblings, Nancy Lancaster and John Calhoun.

After meeting on a blind date in August 1951, Sue and Howard married in Wheeling, West Virginia in 1952 and moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania until 1960 when they moved to Akron, Ohio. Other than two years in Chicago, Sue spent the balance of her life in Akron and as a member of First Congregational Church of Akron. She dedicated her life to being the loving wife of Howard and mother to her three children and grandchildren. In addition, she spent countless hours volunteering for First Church, Akron City Hospital, Akron Children’s Hospital and as a docent for Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. She was recognized by Akron City Hospital for her volunteer service of over 10,000 hours. Sue was a gifted gardener and cook. She helped maintain the islands in her neighborhood for many years. She showed her love for her family and friends through her cooking and her artful table designs. 

Sue was a faithful, kind person who will be missed by her loving family, her church family and friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio for the care, comfort and compassion they provided Sue during her stay.
