Tania Olena Terpylak, age 19, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 8, 2011.
Born on August 31, 1991 in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of Mark and Christine Terpylak. As an active member of The Heartbeats jump-rope team, she competed internationally. A graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School, Tania was a sophomore at Akron University.
She is survived by her brothers, Andrei and Mikola. She was the beloved granddaughter of Michael and Luba Darmochwal, and Maria Terpylak. Her grandfather, George Terpylak, preceded her in death.
Family and friends will remember Tania as a spirited, funny, athletic, beautiful, young woman who lived life to the fullest. In her passing, she gave life to others, by becoming an organ donor through LifeBanc.
Calling hours will be on Friday, May 13, 2011, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, Akron, OH 44333. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 5720 State Road, Parma, Ohio 44134. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name will be accepted by The Summa Foundation, P.O. Box 2090, Akron, OH 44398.
