Tarus "Terry" Lawrence Latacki

Tarus “Terry” Lawrence Latacki, 77, passed away October 21, 2021, at Greenfield Estates, Copley Ohio.

Terry was born on December 2, 1943, in Warren, OH to his parents, Tarus and Violet Latacki.

Terry attended Buchtel High School and graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor’s Degree then achieved a Master’s Degree in Quality Control from Aurora University in Aurora, IL.  In August 1963, Terry was hired by Americhem Inc., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Terry was mechanically inclined and took that aptitude into the manufacturing department. He went on to become plant manager at Elgin, Illinois, director of manufacturing, vice president of operations, and a key member of the European strategic planning team around the time when Americhem expanded with a plant in England. He retired in 2003 after 40 years.

His family was very important to Terry. He was so happy when his grandchildren arrived, spending time with them and taking them places. He loved to travel and garden. Terry never met a stranger, showing kindness to all those he met. He loved to take walks with family and pets.

Terry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, singing in the choir.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Tarus and Violet, and brother, James Berna. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen; son, Tarus (Theresa) and daughter, Jeanette; grandchildren, Braden,  Katya, and Evan;  sister,  Connie Jelen, brother, Gary (Linda) Reiter; sisters-in-law, Nancy Berna;  Dianna (Frank) Kuta;  aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling Hours will be held Wednesday, October 27 from 5-7 P.M. at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23Rd. St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 2 P.M. Thursday, October 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Church Randolph, 2643 Waterloo Rd. Mogadore, OH 44260. The family will receive friends and family 1 hour prior at the church.
