Teresa S. Tibbs, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 04, 2018.
Teresa was born on December 3, 1931 to Dominic and Argentina Cicione in Akron, OH. She was a South High graduate. Teresa was a faithful and active member of St. Andrew's Church. She had a passion for her family, grandchildren and friends.
Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; parents, Dominic and Argentina; brother, Ralph and stepson Wayne. She is survived by her sisters, Mary (Darrel) Ludle and Anne (Robert) Johann; sons, Mark and Michael (Tatiana); grandchildren, John, Bella, Brandon, Juliana, Gabriella, Tessa Grace and many nieces and nephews.
Memaw was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was well known for her amazing orange cakes and delicious pizzelles. Memaw loved her grandchildren with all of her heart, family was everything to her. She was always busy doing something around the yard, house or especially in the kitchen. If she wasn't working in her garden, you could find her in the kitchen preparing lasagnas, sauces, cakes or cookies and a variety of soups. Any visitors to the Tibbs' house either announced or unannounced could expect a full course meal with pizzelles to go. Up until her passing, she would still shop at Sam's Club to buy pre-packaged goodies (in bulk) to pass out to the bank tellers, church members or for her grandchildren. Although she was a feisty, fearless Italian woman, she was compassionate and loved everyone with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed.
Celebration of life services will be performed by Rev. Gary A. McElroy at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 765 Thayer St. Akron 44310 on Sunday, April 8th at 11:30. Immediately following the service family and friends may gather in the parish hall for a light lunch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew's Church. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
