Theodore J. Callas

Theodore J. Callas, age 88, of Akron, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

He was born February 20, 1933 in Akron, son of the late John and Vasilia (nee Bennett) Callas.

Theodore was preceded in death by his wife, Theodora Callas, and grandson Teddy Hay.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; stepson, Ben Rumbaugh; children John Curtis, Basiliki (Chad) Hay, and Jimmy Callas; grandchildren Alexandra and Theodora Hay, and his God sister, Bessie Vrettos, and many cousins and friends.

Theodore was a dedicated, proud member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. He was often the first one to show up when the doors were unlocked in the morning. Theodore was a member of AHEPA. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333 where a Trisagion Service will commence at 6:00PM. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 17, at 11:00 AM with Father Jerry Hall, officiating, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union Street, Akron, OH 44304. Interment immediately following at Mt. Peace Cemetery.
