Theodore Barry Hyatt of Akron, Ohio, was originally from Sophia, West Virginia, born December 10, 1939.
He went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 22, 2022. Ted moved to Ohio in 1953 and graduated from North High School in 1957. He then worked at Ekerts meats in Tallmadge, both packing and delivering meat as a truck driver. He worked as a truck driver for Ward Trucking from 1979 until he retired in 2005. He attended Hammel Business College. Ted was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he became a deacon at age 29 and served until he was 82 years old; at one point being a co-deacon with three generations of Hyatts along with his son, Ted and father, Luther. He was a member of the choir from 1959 until 2022. His kindness, contagious laugh and good sense of humor could make anyone feel at home.
Ted was preceded in death by his daughter Connie, parents Luther and Eva, brother Vernon, sisters Vera and Judy, and brothers Jim and Fred. Ted is survived by Versie, his wife of 63 years, daughter, Kim (Rich), son, Ted, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1 PM on Wednesday April 27, 2022 at Billow Funeral Home 85 N. Miller Rd. Akron, Ohio 44333, Family and friends may visit from 12-1 PM on Wednesday prior to the service.
