Theodore Steele

Theodore R. "Ted" Steele joined his wife of 47 years, Betty Jean, on October 10, 2013.

A lifelong resident of Akron, he was a graduate of Garfield High School and the University of Akron, where he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. He remained an active supporter of the Theta Chi Fraternity his entire life. As a youth, he was a member of DeMolay International and remained active in that organization as well. He retired as the Executive Vice President of Medina General Hospital. While at Medina General Hospital, Ted was a member of the Medina Kiwanis and The Mental Health 6-4-8 Board. He led many other civic activities associated with Medina General Hospital and the Medina community. Ted was a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church and the Medina United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by wife, Betty, and brothers Jack and Jim; he is survived by son, Tim (Angie); grandchildren, Ryan and Katie; and sisters, Betty Pelligra and Margie Hoover.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Becki Bowan-Verbridge officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 p.m. Sunday. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
