Dr. Thomas N. Adams of Copley, 90, passed away on March 6, 2016. Preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Despina Adamandes, and his loving wife of 59 years, Pauline County Adams; Tom is survived by sons, Nicholas (Annette), Chandler, AZ; Dean, Cuyahoga Falls; and Jason (JoAnna), Akron; precious granddaughters, Nicole, Chandler, AZ and Juliana, Akron; as well as his sister, Catherine, Sarasota, FL.
Honorably discharged from the US Army from WWII, Tom served with the 86th Infantry Blackhawk Division in both the European and Pacific Theatres - the latter just prior to the war with Japan ending. For more info:

A graduate from the Universities of Akron, Case-Western (Library Science), and Ohio State (Doctor of Optometry), Tom practiced as an Optometrist for over fifty years.
A devoted servant of the Greek Orthodox Faith and proud of his Greek Heritage, Tom was a member and past President of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, wherein he initiated the Trust Fund, and with Fr. George Bartz, co-founded the Men's Club, and helped establish the Good Samaritans. He was also a past President of the Christian Orthodox Council of Akron, and founder of the Asia Minor Hellenic American Association. A devoted member and past President of the Ahepa 63, Fairlawn, Tom was also instrumental in building the Ahepa 63, Inc. senior HUD housing facility in Tallmadge.
Tom had a passion for books, iconography, doodling; running, tennis, and racquetball in his younger years; and water aerobics in his later years. Tom and Pauline enjoyed many cruises with friends, and trips to Europe, including Greece, and China. Tom also took two long road trips - to Mexico visiting the Mayan ruins, as well as another to Nova Scotia. For many years, Tom and friends would travel to Amish country and to Washington DC.
Tom lived a long and healthy life. With the loss of Pauline only three months ago, he was beckoned to follow. May his memory be eternal.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Jerry Hall and Fr. Andrew Lentz officiating. Internment at Rose Hill Burial Park with military honors. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Sunday 3 to 6 p.m. Trisagion service will take place at 5:00 p.m. with an Ahepa service to follow.
