Thomas J. "Tom" Bahn, 87, died July 22, 2013.
Born in Akron, he was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served at Normandy on the first LST to land on the beach. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Firestone Post #3383 VFW, and had volunteered for Hospice and the Streetsboro Heritage Foundation. A carpenter and woodworker, he was called "Mr. Fix it" by family and friends. Tom spent most of his career working for the Standard Oil Company of Ohio.
Preceded in death by his wife, Bettie R. Bahn in 2006; he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Jeffrey Rexroad; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas "Tom" Earnest and Denise Bahn, William "Bill" and Kelly Bahn; grandchildren, Katherine Rexroad Miller (Joshua), Jeffrey Thomas "Tom" Rexroad (Lisa), Jeanie Elizabeth Rexroad, Turner William Bahn (Sarah), Hilary Frances Bahn, Tanner William Bahn, Jordan Rae Bahn and Evan Patrick Bahn; great-grandchildren, Riley Hunt Bahn, Jessie Kate Miller, Makenna Marek, Elijah M. Miller, Hallie L. Parker, Lucy E. Miller and Wesley Thomas Rexroad; sister, Chleyon Brown and dear friend, Betty Defer.
A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. THURSDAY, July 25th, at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with military honors conducted by Firestone Post #3383 VFW. There are no calling hours.
