Thomas W. Blazey, 92, loving husband and father died peacefully on December 11, 2012 at Hospice on Ridgewood.
Tom was born September 15, 1920 in Euclid, Ohio and lived most of his life in the Akron area.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University in 1942 and served his country as a Captain in the Army Air Corps in World War II.
He retired from B.F. Goodrich as Vice President/Controller after 35 years of service. Tom was honored by The Children's Services Board of Akron for his 30 years of dedicated service and also served on the Davey Tree Board.
As recently as two weeks ago, Tom was still playing and enjoying a game of bridge. Integrity, punctuality, honesty, respect, understanding, compassion and loyalty were words by which he lived.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois, and his parents, Jack and Gertrude. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Patricia; his children, Jack (Debbie), their children Jennifer and Jim of Chardon: Ruthie Moore (Rob) and her son, Glenn of Akron. Extended family members include: Christine, Bill and Anne Stevens, Michael, Laura, Michael Jr. and Katherine Treml, Tom, Kathleen, Matthew, Christian and Patrick Hansen, Jon, Linda, Lesley and Alexa Treml.
A luncheon honoring Tom's life and his many accomplishments will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fairlawn Country Club in Akron.
