Thomas Walker Fisher

June 2, 1917 — December 20, 2016

Thomas Walker Fisher, Jr., died peacefully in Copley, OH, on December 20, 2016.

He was born June 2,1917, in Tyrone, PA, the second of two sons, to Thomas Walker and Margaretta Calderwood Fisher. Tom attended Tyrone High School and Phillips Exeter Academy before entering Princeton University where he majored in Chemical Engineering. He served as a Lt. Commander during WW II in the Naval Ordinance Department. Following the war, Tom joined Firestone Tire and Rubber Co and spent 34 years in various roles and locales before retiring in 1980.
Tom enjoyed a long and productive retirement. He was active in his Presbyterian Church, did income tax returns for the AARP program and travelled extensively with his wife and family. But his consuming passion during retirement was woodworking. An impressive body of work has filled family homes and earned distinction and honors in the field. Tom was an Eagle Scout.

Tom is survived by Virginia V. Fisher, his wife of nearly 73 years; three children, Thomas Walker Fisher, III, Katharine Fisher Morland and Andrew Vanneman Fisher; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
