Thomas L. Gower, 90, died Feb. 27, 2010.
Born in Wales, he was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in World War II. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Akron and Adoniram Lodge #517 F. & A.M.
Preceded in death by wife, Margaret; he is survived by son, Thomas Gower, II Sheryl Winsby of Milford, Delaware; sisters-in-law, Mildred Burke of Akron, Jean Gower of Cleveland, Doris Sorenson of New Brighton, Minn., Genevieve Woods of Akron and brother-in-law, Raymond McCorkle of Akron.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian of Akron with Dr. Mark T. Rupert officiating. Private inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Akron Food Bank, 647 E. Market St., Akron 44304.
