Thomas E. Heinlein
Thomas E. Heinlein died August 8, 2008.
He was born August 4, 1932 in Logan, Ohio to Porter and Winifred Heinlein. Tom graduated from Logan High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio University, a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Master of Sacred Theology from Christian Theological Seminary. He served as a Presbyterian minister in Salem Center, Kokomo and Greencastle, Indiana. He then came to Akron where he served as the Chaplain at Rockynol Retirement Community. In his retirement, Tom continued to volunteer at Rockynol and served on the Board. Through his ministry he touched many lives.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bette; daughters, Cynthia, Elaine Williams, Joyce Matt Zito; and granddaughter, Sylvia Williams.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 11th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 12th at 1 p.m., with Rev. Moss Rutan officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Life Care Fund at Rockynol Retirement Community, 1148 W. Market St., Akron, Ohio 44313.
