Thomas Roosevelt Jones

Thomas Roosevelt Jones, also known as "Squirt" to his family and close friends in Newport News, Virginia, where he was born November 21, 1962, left this earth on July 14, 2017 after a short fight with cancer. He will be greatly missed by the many young men whose lives he touched as a football coach over the years and the friends he cooked for at the Front Porch. Thomas helped found the Central Raiders and the Front Porch Café. His quiet strength and faithful presence will be greatly missed by his friends and co-workers at South Street Ministries.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Edward M. and Joanne M. Jones. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Toni R. Code Jones; brother, Darryl Jones (Marilyn); sister, Andrea Hayes (Dwight); daughters, Tory Watkins (Nathaniel), Lynne Nicole, Markiea and Rochell; and sons, Durell, Kyron, and Da'Shaun; mother-in-law, Barbara Code and brothers-in-law, Germain and Chris Code; grandsons, Nathaniel Jr., A'Shon, Sir Charles and Tyrelle; granddaughters, Nikyah, Robyn, Lillian, La'niyah, Dominae and Maliyah. The family also wishes to acknowledge brother and sister, Vance and Shelia Woodall, the entire Woodall/Central Raiders families, and Don Drumm.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, July 22nd at 12 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Pastor Duane Crabbs officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
