Thomas "TT" Todd Thompson, age 78, graduated to heaven on March 21, 2012, at Hospice of Visiting Nurse, Copley, Ohio, following complications from Parkinsons Disease. TT was born in Dover, Ohio, to Rolland Lee and Ressie Todd Thompson, on April 29, 1933. After graduating from Coventry High School, he eloped with his sweetheart, Sally Bullis, on October 22, 1951.
In 1951, TT's father, Rolland, founded Acro Tool & Die Company, in Akron, Ohio. TT joined the company in 1953, eventually becoming the owner and President. Under his ownership Acro became and still is a loyal and trusted supplier to the tire mold industry. He was one of the founders of the Akron Chapter of the National Tool and Die Precision Machining Association.
Moving his family to Sharon Center in 1965, TT was an avid golfer, and in that same year opened Colonial Hills Golf Course. He was a charter member of The Sharon Golf Club. With six children it was natural for him to be involved with Highland Schools, and served on the Highland School Board from 1970 to 1973. TT loved the outdoors and insisted his children and grandchildren spend countless hours weeding, watering, and loving the outdoors as well. Some of us stuck with it, and others, well... . Not so much.
With his family, he opened and operated Hart & Mather Guest House in Sharon Center from 1989 to 1996 and White House Christmas Tree Farm from 1987 to 2005.
TT was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Wadsworth, Ohio.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sally Bullis Thompson; and their daughters, Deborah Fox, Pamela (Paul) Thielo, Marlene (Jack) Tramonte, Mary (James) Fulton, Sally Ohle (Tim Zuver) and Katherine (Terry) Ellis; grandchildren, Todd, Jason (Carolyn), Ryan, Paul (Sarah), Lauren, Lynn (Jorge), Dominic, Mary, Anne (Rik), Sarah, Tom and Grace; and great-grandchildren, Rafael, Carmella, Jack, Lucia, Lincoln and baby Meglich; sisters, Nancy DeDino, Sarah Taylor and Barbara Likosar; many nieces and nephews.
