Timothy J. Guinter, 67, passed away May 3, 2015 after a courageous 2 year battle with leukemia.
Tim was born in Akron and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School. He was an Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and was employed at Roadway Express for many years until finding his dream job as a corporate pilot for Parker Hannifin Corp.
Preceding him in death was his sister, Linda Hughes; and mother, Patricia. He leaves behind his friend and father, John R. Guinter; his loving and devoted son and caretaker, John M. Guinter; sisters, Carol Tomasik (Dan), and Beth DeFrank (Greg). He also leaves his ex-wife, Aliesa; and many friends and relatives.
The family would like to thank the staff at Seidman Cancer Center at University Hospital in Cleveland and especially the staff at the University Hospital outpatient facility on Ridge Road who provided outstanding care and became like family.
A private graveside service will be held at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park with Rev. David E. Loar officiating and with military honors by Charles Faust American Legion Post 281. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St. (corner of 23rd St. and Falls Ave.) In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 501 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44303 or make a blood donation at your local Red Cross location. Keep on flying.
