Velma M Conger

Velma M. Conger Velma M. Conger, 93, passed away Oct. 8, 2011. Born in Porters Falls, West Virginia, Velma lived in Peninsula 61 years before moving to the Bahamas for 14 years. She returned to Ohio in 2008. Velma was very active in the Peninsula Community both with the Peninsula Players and the Quarry. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles H. Conger; she is survived by her son, Don of St. George, Utah; daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and John Gardner of Bath, Ohio and Janet and Bob Mayer of Stow, Ohio; five grandchildren, Maureen Conger, Heather James Tom, Eric Gardner Dawn, Todd Mayer Patti, and Stacey Hakes Brian; along with four great-grandsons, Kyle, Kevin, Joseph and Andrew. Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before services. Internment at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peninsula, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Summa, P.O. Box 2090, Akron, OH 44398.
