Viola M. Englert, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Jan. 13, 2011 after a long illness.
Born in Akron, she was a graduate of Akron City Hospital School of Nursing and served as a nurse in the U.S. Army. Her employment included private duty nursing, part time work at Our Lady of The Elms Convent, and she retired with 23 years service from the City of Akron as a public health nurse. A lover of gardening and flower arranging, Viola was a member of the Wadsworth and River Styx Garden Clubs. She was also a member of Akron Woman's City Club and the City of Akron 20 Year Club.
Preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Emma Patterson; brother, Clyde Patterson, Jr.; daughter, Deborah Jill; and former husband, Jack; Mrs. Englert is survived by sons, Timothy Linda and Paul Englert; daughter, Claudia Englert; grandchildren, Carissa Farrell, Jill Christopher, Justin, Kelly and Tommy; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Milo; and sister, Audra Shallenberger.
Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Stephen Olsen officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
