Walter Raleigh Crumrine

Walter Raleigh Crumrine, Jr., son of Lena and Walter Raleigh Crumrine, Sr., passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning, last. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia M. Crumrine (Rausch); his elder son, Walter Raleigh Crumrine, III; his younger son, Ralph Christian Crumrine; and several nephews and nieces.

Walter graduated from The University of Akron with a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Walter was a veteran of the U.S. Army Airborne and served for a short time in Austria. Much of Walter's professional career was spent working for Sauter, Ritchie and Doane in Akron. Walter was a devout member of the First Congregational Church of Akron where he participated in the distribution of food to the underprivileged and was the greeter to all that attended weekly services.

Visitation will be on Wednesday late afternoon, April 11 from 4 to 7 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, Akron. The funeral service will be on Thursday morning, April 12 at 10:30 at the First Congregational Church of Akron located at 292 East Market Street, Akron 44308. A light lunch will be served immediately after the ceremony. Please send donations to the First Congregational Church of Akron in honor of Walter in lieu of gifts and flowers. Walter will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
