Walter A. Fielding, 74, passed away April 26, 2012.

A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of Montrose Zion United Methodist Church, West Akron Kiwanis and retired from the City of Akron.

He is survived by wife, Darla; children, Roy, Rob and Kristin; five grandsons; sister, Karin Yothers; a niece and nephew; and sister-in-law, Laura Miller.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Montrose Zion United Methodist Church, 565 N. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., with Dr. Walter S. Chisholm officiating. Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., and one hour before services at the church. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Montrose Zion United Methodist Church or the West Akron Kiwanis.
