Warwick Mccutcheon

November 21, 1918 — June 8, 2012

Warwick ('Mac') McCutcheon, born November 21, 1918, passed peacefully on June 8, 2012. Mac was predeceased by the late Patricia Colt McCutcheon after 57 years of marriage. He is survived by his son, Jay Colt McCutcheon and wife, Stephanie S. McCutcheon of Baltimore, MD, his son, R. Scott McCutcheon and wife, Catharine B. McCutcheon of Charlotte, NC, his son, Kevan McCutcheon and wife, Susan J. McCutcheon of Hudson, OH; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; niece Debra Bilal; and grand niece, of Indianapolis, IN.
Mac was a stalwart man of insightful intelligence, quick wit and a unique sense of humor. He proudly served his country during World War II in the South Pacific as a Lieutenant in the Navy aboard the USS aircraft carrier WASP. He was awarded the Bronze Star for helping save many sailors. Mac attended Choate Academy and graduated from Cornell University with a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. Mac's entire career was in the rubber industry, first with BF Goodrich and then 27 years with JM Huber Corporation. After retiring in 1983, he enjoyed friends and golf at Sharon Golf Club and Fairlawn Country Club, competitive Gin Rummy, a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness, and avid reading. He shone as a dedicated caregiver to his wife, Patty, through her declining years. His kindness toward and care for each family member grew as he aged with grace.
Mac is missed by all of those fortunate to have been touched by his life. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, please consider a contribution to Hospice of VNS, Attention: Development, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
"His life was gentle, and the elements so mixed in him, that nature would stand up and say to all the world 'this was a man'. (Billow FAILAWN Chapel)
