Wayne M. Rowland, 95, entered into life eternal Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Hospice Care Center.
Born in Akron, March 20, 1915 to Helen M. and Dr. Albert Rowland, Wayne graduated from West High School. He was employed by the Lawson Milk Co. for 33 years holding various jobs including manager and inventory and maintenance positions. In his younger days he enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, playing cards and taking care of his car and boat.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 39 years, Evelyn; children, Robert Judy, Rebecca Rowland, Norma Tom Ake; grandchildren, Michelle Dennis Ronowski, Sandra Rowland, Sheryl, Sandra and Michael Ake, Tim and Brian Mendelson, Sue Mark Datko; great grandchildren, Stephanie, William, Alex, Joshua, Brayden, Chris, Nick and Sarah. He also leaves his loving sister, Phyllis Berry and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by first wife, Joan; brothers, Wally and Gerald; sister, June Rowland.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at the Billows Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., where funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 pm. with Dr. J. Marshall Groat officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset Hills Burial Park, 5001 Everhard Rd, NW Canton, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Visiting Nurse Services 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, OH, 44333 or a charity of your choice. Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel
