Wesaley Lee Porter

Wesaley Lee Porter, age 61, of Akron, OH, departed this life on December 18th, 2024. He was born May 11 ,1963 in Columbia, SC to parents Willie May Porter and Jimmy R. Jackson. Wesaley was a roofer by trade, working with and for a considerable number of reputable area contractors and business owners.

He is preceded in death by his Grand Ma Ma Porter; cousin Sharma Richardson Wise (Marvin); Uncle Wes Porter (Popie) of Columbia SC; son, Leon; Uncle Bud and Uncle George (son Tony); aunty, Josephine Griffin (Tagg); Theresa Olivia Harlen; and Joseph Herreney (children still living).

He is survived by his long time significant other and “common law” wife, Judy Pickett; daughters, Charelle Vaughn and Angel Penda; stepdaughter, Darnesha Pickett; granddaughter, Aerial Wright, grandson, Dalen Pickett; siblings, Anthony, Isaac, Butler, Stephanie, Cynthia, Jennaine, and Jarrett (Victoria) Jackson, Anthony (Barbara) Marvin Bates, all from Columbia, South Carolina, and Ivory Scott from Brooklyn, New York; Uncle Gettys Porter and Fred Porter {Trish); Aunt MaryAnn Walker; a host of cousins, including Robert Richardson who was present and at Wesaley’s side at the time of his death; and many dear friends who will deeply miss him.
