William R. Fenchel

William R. Fenchel, 91, passed away on July 5, 2024, peacefully at home.

Bill graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1950 and then attended Kent State University. He went on to join the US Navy, serving 4 years. He worked at Chrysler Stamping Plant for 38 years.

Above and beyond his lengthy career, Bill did many fun and interesting things with his life. He was a private pilot and a member of the Civil Air Patrol, and a volunteer for the Northampton Township Fire Department where he was a Captain of the ladder truck, manning the Rescue Squad for many years.

He played ball with the Silver League, enjoyed lots of golf, playing cards, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Guardians.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Evelyn Fenchel. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Marge; sons, William Fenchel Jr., and Richard (Donna) Fenchel; granddaughters, Elizabeth Fenchel, Emma (Nick) Mares, Tressa (Brett) Patchell and Kaidra Fenchel; and great grandchildren, Azura Fenchel, Leo Mast, Braxton Mares and Sidra Patchell.

Bill’s family would like to thank the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department and Crossroads Hospice for all of their support.
