William Hrubik, 82, of Akron, passed to the presence of his Lord and Savior on August 20, 2010, after an extended illness.
A post-World War II Navy veteran and graduate of the University of Akron, he lived his entire life in Akron, concluding his professional career as Vice President, Midwest Rubber Manufacturing. He graciously served with joy for many years as lay pastor and elder at Lakeside Christian Church formerly Vesper Lake Christian Church in Ghent, and touched countless lives of those blessed to know him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia V. ``Tiny'; daughters, Cynthia A. Flanigan of Metamora, Ill., Carol K. Sauder of Scottsdale, Arizona; sons, William M. of Bay Village and Mark D. of Fairfax, Va.; as well as by nine grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Mildred, Julie, and Irene, and by brother, Joseph.
Funeral services will be held at the Lakeside Christian Church, 3535 Knollwood Lane, in Ghent, Tuesday August 24 at 11 a.m., Revs James Haring and Edward Staich officiating. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., on Monday afternoon, August 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. Private interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
