Willis "Bill" Zeigler

September 18, 1926 — March 22, 2012

Willis S. "Bill" Zeigler, born September 18, 1926 in Peoria, IL, passed away March 22, 2012.

He attended Penn State University and graduated from Cornell University where he was a Sigma Chi. He worked 40 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., retiring as vice president of Goodyear Aerospace. During that period at Goodyear, he was a Sloan Scholar at M.I.T. He was a longtime member of Portage Country Club and the Blue Coats.

After retiring, he became a part-time professor at the University of Akron in the Business School. He thoroughly enjoyed his ten years at the University and mentored two groups of women, introducing them to the business leaders of our area.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia B. Zeigler; his two daughters, Pamela A. Sanders and Patricia A. Zeigler; two grandchildren, Stephen Sanders and Allison Sanders; also his sister, Carolyn Delaney; sister-in-law, Sally Tange; and rescued Doberman, Faith.

Services will be held 11 a.m. WEDNESDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Amy Starr Redwine officiating. Interment at Moore's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home TUESDAY from 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Akron Department of Development, Zeigler Scholarship Fund, P.O.
