Agnes Baric

Agnes Baric , 93, of Akron, born December 12, 1928 passed away on September 18, 2022.

Born in Deerfield, OH, Agnes then spent most of her life in Akron. After graduating from South High in 1946 she took classes and became an air traffic controller for National Airlines in New York. Several years later she moved back to Akron and started her career at Firestone. Her skills and her work ethic served her well at Firestone. After 28 years there she retired as the executive secretary to the Japanese Chairman of Bridgestone and two Executive Vice Presidents. She had lived in Chicago for three years helping with the transition of Firestone to Bridgestone. In her free time, she loved to watch sports, go out to eat, spend time with family, and shop!

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents Rose and Louis and her 7 siblings. She is survived by nieces Kathi (Gene) Brand and Barb (John) Lent, great nieces Eloise and Ilse Guckelberger, great nephews Eric and Christopher (Christiana) Lent, great great nephew Carter Lent, cousins Fabian Blazevic, Kata (George) Stamos, and Stefano, Arianna and Antonio Stamos.
Special thanks to the staff in Assisted Living at Rockynol for their care and friendship over the last several years, and to Kindred Hospice, Donna Banks, and her wonderful team. All of these people made Agnes’ journey much better.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St., Fairlawn 44333. Friends will be received one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron.
In lieu of flowers, please give a donation to your church or to Haven of Rest, Akron.
